Hotshots Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes, competitive gymnastics teams, one-on-one private lessons, camps, and birthday parties. Classes are grouped according to age and ability and use the newest gymnastics equipment described by the program. Instruction takes place in small groups with an 8:1 ratio, and one-on-one private lessons are available for all levels.
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday in the afternoon and evening, and Saturday mornings
• Price: 50% off for the second recreational co-ed classes. 10% off for the second recreational boys classes. 10% discount for any sibling. Annual $75 registration fee. A $25.00 late fee is assessed if payments are not paid by the 10th of the month.
Each instructor goes through an extensive training program and is selected based on knowledge of child development and the sport of gymnastics. The mission of Hotshots Gymnastics is to encourage participation and pursue excellence in all aspects of gymnastics. The program is led by Cristian Leric, a former Olympian coach, who is the recipient of the New York State Coach of the Year Award. The program describes itself as a top East Coast boys gymnastics program and offers competitive teams from Level 3 and up, including USAG, USAIGC, and boys’ teams. Gift certificates and unlimited scheduled makeup classes are available.
The program states that the gym provides a safe yet stimulating and nurturing environment, with all classes moved to a larger part of the facility that has air conditioning and a more open feel. The gym uses what it describes as the newest and best gymnastics equipment on Long Island.
The program asks that gymnasts wear clothing without buttons, buckles, or zippers, and not wear jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or rings. Jeans are not allowed. Leotards are suggested for girls, and athletic pants and a shirt are suggested for boys. Each parent or guardian must sign a medical release stating that their child is in good physical condition, has been examined by a physician within the last six months, and is in relatively good health and able to participate in a full gymnastics program.
