Island Rock Youth Programs include activities such as belaying, climbing, bouldering, and top roping. The programs also offer personal climbing training, personal fitness training, staff belay sessions, Ninja+Fitness, and birthday parties that use these climbing and fitness options.
• Schedule: General facility hours are Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday–Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Early morning members-only hours are available on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM.
Island Rock Youth Programs take place in a facility that has 14,000 square feet of climbing surface, state-of-the-art training boards, and a Ninja+Fitness area built by World Ninja Sport. For staff belay groups and birthday parties, Island Rock instructors handle all rope work and knot tying. Island Rock has been leading Long Island's climbing community for over 28 years and first opened in 1996, with an expansion in 2017 that almost doubled the climbing area. The leadership team includes Ross (General Manager), Eric (Director of Routesetting), Xavier (Youth Program Director), Kimberly (Manager), James (Manager), and Summer (Routesetter). Island Rock states that it is dedicated to serving Long Island's climbing community and believes in creating an open and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
