Deer Mountain Day Camp

Deer Mountain Day Camp offers a day camp experience that includes a range of activities, facilities, and staff similar to those found at a sleep away camp. Activities at the camp are taught by experts whom the camp scouts out. Many former campers later return to Deer Mountain Day Camp as counselors, continuing ties that span generations.

Deer Mountain Day Camp began in 1956, when the Katz family founded the camp, and it continues as a family-owned tradition. The camp states that its goal is to help every camper enhance their positive qualities and embrace who they are as each becomes a unique and essential part of the community. Families have shared that their children talk about Deer Mountain Day Camp all year long, that their children enjoy the activities, counselors, and food, and that the camp has a theme song their children sing frequently. One parent reports that their child gained confidence as an athlete, artist, swimmer, and person after two summers at the camp, and another parent notes a high level of professionalism and an understanding that children develop differently and have varying interests.
