Ramapo Parks & Recreation offers Preschool Swim Instruction for children at least 3 years old, Morning Youth Swim Instruction and Evening Youth Swim Instruction for children at least 5 years old or who have completed kindergarten, Weekend Youth Swim Instruction, Adult Swim Instruction for ages 18 and older, and Specialized Swim Instruction for all ages. It also offers Defensive Driving Classes, which are a National Safety Council approved NY State Defensive Driver class.
Programs
- Defensive Driving Classes — 9:30am-4:30pm · $30–$35 · National Safety Council approved NY State Defensive Driver class. 6-hr class. For 2026 classes: September 24th, November 16th, December 28th.
- Preschool Swim Instruction — At least 3 years old · Monday-Friday, 10:15-11:00am · $150 · Swimming Basics and Awareness of the Aquatic Environment. Parents and preschoolers learn through play activities. 45 minutes of swim and safety instruction for ten days.
- Morning Youth Swim Instruction — At least 5 years old or completed kindergarten · Monday-Friday, 10:15-11:00am · $150 · The Fundamentals of Swimming. 45 minutes of instruction per day for ten days.
- Evening Youth Swim Instruction — At least 5 years old or completed kindergarten · Monday-Friday, 5:00-5:45pm and 6:00-6:45pm · $150 · The Fundamentals of Swimming. 45 minutes of instruction for ten days.
- Weekend Youth Swim Instruction — At least 5 years old or completed kindergarten · Saturdays, 10:00-10:45am · $75 · The Fundamentals of Swimming. 45 minutes of instruction for five days.
- Adult Swim Instruction — 18 and older · Monday-Friday, 7:00-7:45pm · $150 · Begin, enhance or advance your swimming skills. 45 minutes of instruction per day for ten days.
- Specialized Swim Instruction — All ages · Monday-Friday, 10:30-11:00am and 7:00-7:30pm · $150 · Improve your swimming skills and fine-tune your technique with individualized attention. Thirty minutes per session for five days. Maximum 2:1 instruction. Subject to instructor availability.
