The Junior Sailing Camp Program introduces participants to sailing through the Junior Sailing Program and related activities such as cruising, racing, education, sailing, power boating, and sailboat racing. The program is part of a broader set of offerings that also includes a Boat Sharing Program and Adult Sailing Lessons.
• Ages: 6–16 years old
The Junior Sailing Camp Program is open to children of members, relatives of members, and, on a limited basis, non-members, ages 6 to 16 who can swim. The Junior Sailing Camp Program is led by a Certified Sailing Instructor who teaches the basics of sailing while instilling confidence on the water. The Club offers Boat Share and Junior Sailing programs for those without a boat. Founded in 1871, North Shore Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club on Long Island. Since 1933, the Club has been located on the north shore of Manhasset Bay. North Shore Yacht Club states that it is for people who love to be on the water on Manhasset Bay, Long Island Sound, and beyond. The Club does not have a swimming pool or restaurant. Leadership roles at the Club include Mary Lu Dempsey for Membership & Club Rentals and Club Steward Captain Vic Geryk.
