Kids Summer Fishing Adventures is a weekly fishing camp where kids take part in a weekly fishing camp, learn to fish, and go on fishing trips. Participants fish for species such as fluke, blackfish, striped bass, and scup (porgy). Bait and fishing equipment are included at no extra charge on these fishing trips, and no fishing licenses are required.
• Schedule: Weekly sessions, with registration available at any time; Day Tripper openings are added to the calendar every Saturday before the week starts.
The program limits space to 15 kids per weekly session. If all 15 spots are not filled in a given week, the camp is opened to Day Trippers. If a reserved weekly session cannot be attended for the full week, the program will try to fill the child’s spot, and only when the spot is filled will a refund or makeup day be provided, and they state that as a small business they are unable to offer refunds without having the spot filled. The Angler Fleet, which runs Kids Summer Fishing Adventures, specializes in private charters and open boat fishing including half day fishing trips, kids summer camp, and summer fireworks cruises, and provides a family-friendly environment that welcomes elite and novice fishermen. Free parking is offered onsite.
The Angler Fleet was created 2 decades ago by Captain Ken, and Kenny Schmitt, also referred to as Captain Kenny or Kenny Schmidt, is now at the helm as the proud owner. The Angler V is a 50-foot, Coast Guard inspected vessel equipped with GPS, fishfinder, radar, a clean bathroom, seats and tables in the cabin, and an upper deck. The Angler VI is a 65-foot, Coast Guard inspected vessel with upper and lower decks with ample seating, 2 clean bathrooms with sinks, and a galley in the cabin with food and refreshments, and all trips on the Angler VI include fishing equipment, bait, and safe dockside parking free of charge.
