About

Camp Broadway is a musical theater camp and summer camp that focuses on performing arts. The program offers year-round youth enrichment programs, experiential events, and educational workshops, including pre-show educational workshops connected to Broadway shows.

• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Camp Broadway NYC programs, including Mainstage and Shining Stars, run July 13–17, 2026, with an ENSEMBLE program scheduled for April 25–27, 2026

Founded in 1995, Camp Broadway is celebrating its 30th anniversary and has worked for three decades with young artists and audiences. Its mission is to make theatre arts an accessible and relevant vehicle for creative children to build confidence, hone presentation skills, and discover their unique talents at every stage of their lives. A staff of experienced Broadway performers, directors, choreographers, writers, composers, and designers teach all programs.

Camp Broadway has implemented custom student outreach programs for artist estates, Broadway productions, and civic organizations, including “The Camp Broadway Challenge for Nothing But Nets” for the United Nations Foundation, “The Pride Rock Project” for Disney Theatrical Productions, “Stages for Learning” for Dodger Theatrical Productions, “On With the Show” for Bravo Television Network, “Adventure Ocean” for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, “Accentuate The Positive” for The Johnny Mercer Foundation, “The Getting To Know You Series” for Rodgers & Hammerstein, and “Future Stages” for Fidelity. Over the last decade, the company has hosted over 450,000 students at pre-show educational workshops designed to enhance their attendance at hundreds of Broadway shows. Nearly 50,000 children from around the world have attended Camp Broadway’s annual musical theater camp on Broadway or at partner theaters in multiple U.S. cities.

Camp Broadway is recognized as Broadway’s “original” summer camp and as New York’s original destination for theater-loving kids. It is a Special Drama Desk Award–winning company for introducing young people to the magic of theater and for playing a crucial role in creating tomorrow’s audiences. The program has been honored for excellence by the Educational Theatre Association, recognized for its professionalism by the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and celebrated for its positive social impact on the community by the Best of New York. The company was instrumental in developing the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards) and continues to serve as the lead producer of The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance. Camp Broadway also launched StageNotes, a study guide series based on Broadway shows, available at www.stagenotes.org.

Camp Broadway gives aspiring performers the opportunity to perform on some of the most iconic stages in New York and elsewhere, with special appearances by Camp Broadway Kids at premier entertainment venues. The program starts budding performers ages 7–9 on a path of theater and art appreciation through creative group play, and it is a place where musical theater–loving kids ages 10–17 learn what it takes to put on a Broadway show. According to parent reviews posted on Trustindex, which verifies that the original source of the reviews is Google, families describe the staff as talented and professional, note that campers meet peers from around the country and the world, and report that their children participate in full days of rehearsal leading to final performances that include choreography, songs, acting, costumes, and playbills listing campers as cast members.
