North Shore Youth Council Youth Programs

North Shore Youth Council Youth Programs offers comprehensive, evidence-based programs and services for youth and families. Its work includes child care, enrichment, recreation, prevention, and mental health counseling. The model is built on a life cycle of programs that involves children and teens at different stages of development, and many young people later return as counselors, mentors, and staff members.

For more than 40 years, North Shore Youth Council has been dedicated to strengthening North Shore communities. Its mission is described as helping youth and families cope in today's changing world. North Shore Youth Council is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based organization. It is funded in part by the Town of Brookhaven, the County of Suffolk, the State of New York, the North Shore Consortium, and public and private donations, and is described as a Town of Brookhaven & North Shore Youth Council partnership at The Robert E. Reid, Sr. Recreation Center. It serves communities from Mount Sinai to Wading River and greater Suffolk County.
