theCoderSchool offers Summer Coding Camps for ages 6–18, with activities that include digital art and animation in MIT’s Scratch, game development using Scratch or Snap, Battlebots Academy, Python Startup, Webrox, Minecraft!, Roblox!, Vibe Code Adventure, Rise of the Machines, and Robocode. Camps are in person, and some camps use platforms such as Bolt, Lovable, Trinket, Repl.it, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Scratch, Snap, and Roblox Studio.
Programs
- Summer Coding Camps — 6-18 · Full-week camps; usually start mid-morning and finish early afternoon; some camps are offered as a half-day
- Vibe Code Adventure — 10+ · A vibe coding camp. Camp Stats: Instructor Ratio 6:1 (typical); Skill Level Beg/Int; Prerequisites none; Platforms: Bolt, Lovable, or similar.
- Python Startup — 10+ · A beginners Python coding camp. Beg/Int. Prerequisites: Some experience preferred but not necessary. Platforms: Trinket, Repl.it, others.
- Webrox — 10+ · Create your own website. For novice or intermediate coders.
- Rise of the Machines — 9+ · AI for beginners. Some coding experience required.
- Battlebots Academy — 8-10 · Build bots and battle it out.
- Digital Art and Animation — 6-9 · Create stories through digital art using MIT's Scratch.
- Game Development — 8-10 · Build playable games using Scratch or Snap. Aimed at newbie and novice coders.
- Minecraft! — 10+ · Code in a Minecraft environment.
- Roblox! — 10+ · Code in a Roblox environment.
- Robocode — 10+ · Program your own bot.

About the provider
theCoderSchool was founded in 2013. Its mission statement says it believes every child is unique and that it mentors them that way, with a focus on creativity, problem solving, and confidence. It is a longtime partner of the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) and helps encourage innovation through coding across the country.
Camp recommendations around age and skill level are provided, but all camps are open to discussion based on the child’s coding experience. On the last day of camp, students give demos to show off their hard work. Some camps require some coding experience; Python requires some typing experience.
