Camps 'R' Us is an accredited, award-winning, family-owned private day camp. The program operates with a daily schedule that runs from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, and it offers on-demand early drop-off and late pick-up. The camp’s team includes over 400 staff members who are described as experienced, expertly trained, and held to the highest standard of care. Founded in 1993, Camps 'R' Us has been family-owned and operated for over 30 years. It is led by Jason Turnier, the son of the founders, and his wife Cheryl, who are also camp parents to daughters Maci and Layla. Cheryl is a former educator with a B.S. in Childhood Education and English Literature from LIU Post and has over two decades of experience working with children. Jason earned his MBA from LIU Post, helped shape Camps 'R' Us nearly two decades ago, and has served as Managing Director for over 15 years.
The mission of Camps 'R' Us is to build better qualities in kids by helping children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially, and to provide a fun, safe, and affordable summer camp experience for Long Island families. The camp describes itself as Long Island’s most affordable ACA-accredited private day camp and states that it offers flexible payments with options to pay now or pay later, along with multiple ways to save that most families qualify for. Camps 'R' Us states that it has been brought into the heart of Long Island communities so that quality, affordable camp is never out of reach.
