Deerkill Day Camp

Deerkill Day Camp offers Pre-K Program (Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4), Junior Camp Program (Entering Kinder & 1st), Club Program (Entering 2nd to 5th), Quest Program (Entering 6th to 9th), and STARs Program (Entering 10th). Campers entering 6th grade and older go on at least one age-appropriate trip each session, and the oldest campers go on up to six day trips each summer plus an overnight at camp.

• General schedule: A day at Deerkill Day Camp is tailored to be developmentally appropriate for each age group. Each group has a different daily schedule based on their age and level of development. Camp is divided into five general age groups: Pre-K (Pre-K 3 & 4), Junior Camp (Entering K or 1st), Club (Entering 2nd to 5th), Quest (Entering 6th to 9th), and STARs (Entering 10th).

About the provider

Deerkill Day Camp has been family owned and operated since 1958. It was founded in 1958 by Rebecca’s grandparents Irwin and Mildred Rhodes, and it is still owned and directed by the Rhodes/Rothman family. The camp serves New York City, Hoboken, Port Imperial, Jersey City, and Bergen, Rockland, Orange, Westchester, and Essex Counties.

Each group is led by an adult and staff is hand selected by the Directors. Campers entering 6th grade and older go on a minimum of one age-appropriate trip each session, with oldest campers going on up to six day trips each summer plus an overnight at camp.
