Lead teachers at Childtime of Syracuse have qualifications ranging from associate's and bachelor's degrees to master's degrees in education, and the staff has a combined 50+ years of child care experience. The director, Nadia Fasiel, holds an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. The school is nationally accredited and is an equal opportunity provider.
The program’s mission is to build strong foundations through secure relationships in a safe environment, with an emphasis on collaborative relationships with responsive and respectful adults and an approach intended to support young learners as students and as individuals. Families have access to live streaming video of the classroom and real-time updates through the SproutAbout mobile app, which also serves as an exclusive family communication tool. The program offers part-time daycare options, healthy meals and snacks that encourage children to explore and try new foods, and Wondercamp, a full-day summer program with weekly themes, friendship, playtime, discovery, field trips, healthy food, and more. Bussing is provided by the school districts to OCS and Westhill Elementary Schools.
Enrolled families describe strong communication, including frequent updates and pictures through the app, and mention that teachers and the director are friendly and know children by name. Several families note that their children have fun and learn every day, that staff members have helped with potty training, and that their children appear happy at drop-off. Families also report that teachers are caring, that they feel heard when they share concerns, and that they appreciate improvements made by the director and the energy and attitude of the staff.
