Elmwood Day Camp offers swim, athletics, creative arts, performing arts, natural play, adventure, team building, electives, hiking and trips, science and engineering, and traditions and special events. Campers also take part in a Developmental Swim Program that is consistent with the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” instructional program, along with free swim periods and a Friday pool dancing tradition.

Elmwood Day Camp’s facility is intentionally designed so that children can explore, challenge themselves and discover their passions, and its pools are described as a safe and happy place to be. The camp’s swim program is customized for each camper, with small swim groups based on comfort and ability levels, and free swim periods that include water play with friends, skill practice, and instructional games. The Swim Directors and pool staff are certified American Red Cross Lifeguards, and the Developmental Swim Program follows the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” instructional program. Elmwood Day Camp provides door-to-door transportation, with EWD buses and vans picking up in multiple listed towns in Westchester County, Manhattan and Riverdale. The camp describes itself as the ideal size day camp for children, with small groups that keep campers connected to each other and their counselors, and it is a summer day camp for 3 year olds, to 5 year olds, up to the 6th grade. The mission of Elmwood Day Camp is for each child to discover, celebrate and be who they are supposed to be, and its directors, Hillari and Gregg, are directly involved with campers, staff and all aspects of camp.
