YMCA Summer Day Camp offers weekday day camp programming that includes field trips, swimming, guest speakers, and camp materials. The camp groups children by grade level into Pathfinders, Explorers, Trailblazers, and Rangers, and Rangers team up with the Teen and Family Department for additional activities.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, with camp hours varying by location between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm, and day camp activities taking place between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm
• Price: For YMCA members the cost is $210/week and for individuals without a YMCA membership the cost is $240/week; the weekly rate is the same for all locations and age groups and includes all field trips, swimming, guest speakers, camp materials, and more
Pathfinders is for children entering kindergarten in the fall. Explorers is for children entering grades 1 and 2, Trailblazers is for campers entering grades 3–5, and Rangers is for campers entering grades 6–8. The mission of YMCA Summer Day Camp is to make a positive impact on campers and families by nurturing the potential in each child, partnering with families for growth and positive youth development, helping campers develop new friendships, exposing campers to new skills and activities, fostering positive interactions with people who may be different, building self-esteem, confidence and independence, practicing decision-making skills, providing a safe place where every camper feels they belong, and hiring staff who act as positive role models through their words and actions. The program describes itself as offering a safe, welcoming environment to explore new activities, build friendships, and grow in confidence through fun, active experiences, and states that its programming gets kids disconnected from technology and reconnected with laughter, fun, and being outdoors as the camp community is built together.
