Ashtabula County YMCA Youth Programs include activities in swimming and lifeguarding. Lifeguard candidates in these programs must be strong swimmers and are required to pass a swimming and skills check. Some lifeguarding roles take place at a pool, and others take place at a waterfront.
• Price: Pool lifeguards are paid at minimum wage. Waterfront lifeguards are paid $12 per hour.

The YMCA Conneaut Outreach Program brings the YMCA into the community, and the Y works side-by-side with neighbors so that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y describes itself as community centered, bringing people together across ages and backgrounds and mobilizing local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change. The organization offers a Virtual YMCA called the Robert S Morrison Virtual YMCA, with new videos and live streams added regularly. The YMCA states that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay, and that Annual Campaign donations directly impact children in Ashtabula County.
YMCA child care programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. The leadership team includes Eric Stinehelfer as CEO and Dale Nissley as Interim CEO.
