Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery Programs

Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery Programs include hands-on, playful learning through interactive exhibits, creative experiences, and hands-on activities. The program also features live programming that is powered by STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) and integrates the sciences, arts, and humanities with interdisciplinary exhibits and programming. Past exhibits have included Let’s Dance to the Beat, Brain Teasers & Logic Launchers, ACE: The Art of Construction and Experimentation, Messy Science, Defying Gravity, and Puppet Palooza, along with national traveling exhibits such as Wild Weather, Go Figure!, Wise About Eyes, Harry Potter’s World, The Amazing Castle, and The Green Revolution.

• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Saturday with varying daytime hours

Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery’s mission is to inspire confidence in people of all ages to explore and discover the world. It serves as a learning hub for Athens, southeastern Ohio, and the surrounding Appalachian region, delivering education programming across more than seven counties in the Appalachian foothills of southeast Ohio. The program is committed to providing hands-on exhibits, frequent live programming, and activities that complement and supplement state-based education standards, and it strives to be a catalyst in communities for inspiring young minds, nurturing a lifelong passion for learning, and cultivating the future generation of innovators and critical thinkers.
