About
Summer Drama Camps offers one-week summer camps for ages 5-17. Camp options include acting sessions with character, movement, voice, creative dramatics, and improv; singing, dancing, and acting in an original musical theatre production; and an introduction to theatre with music, movement, games, and creative dramatics.

- Great Big Acting Camp, Akron — 8-14 · June 8-12, 2026; 9:00 am-4:00 pm · Build acting skills with sessions focusing on character, movement, voice, creative dramatics, and improv; culminates in a final performance.
- So Ya Wanna Be An Actor? — 8-14 · June 22-26, 2026; 9:30 am-3:30 pm · Performance skills taught by professional teaching artists; week concludes with a final performance.
- K.I.D. Camp — 7-17 · July 6-17, 2026; 9:00 am-4:05 pm · Singing-Dancing-Acting. Campers rehearse and perform an original musical theatre production.
- Little K.I.D. Camp — 5-6 · July 20-24, 2026; 9:00 am-12:00 pm · An introduction to theatre with music, movement, games, and creative dramatics in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Great Big Acting Camp, Hudson — 7-13 · July 27-31, 2026; 9:30 am-3:30 pm · Build acting skills with sessions focusing on character, movement, voice, creative dramatics, and improv; culminates in a final performance.

About the provider
The company was founded in 1972 and changed its name to Magical Theatre Company in 1989. It is an award-winning company with recognition in 2019 from Barberton Community Foundation with the Game Changer Award, in 2010 with the inaugural Impact Award for Imagination from Peg’s Foundation, and in 2003 with two outreach awards from the Akron Area Arts Alliance and Summit County Housing Network. Its mission is to enhance learning, growth and civic improvement through professional theatre for young audiences and families.
Registration is currently full for Great Big Acting Camp, Akron and K.I.D. Camp. Registration is currently closed for So Ya Wanna Be An Actor?, Little K.I.D. Camp, and Great Big Acting Camp, Hudson. Spots fill up fast.
