Treehouse Berea is a local family-owned business that provides STEAM-based enrichment experiences for ages 6 to 12 and education enrichment opportunities for children ages 6 to 14. Sarah and Greg Castrigano are the co-owners, licensed educators, and curriculum creators, and they are ODE-licensed educators with over 10 years of experience teaching K–8 learners and over a decade of professional experience teaching children and adults in corporate and educational settings. The program is not a childcare facility or public school, but a private education enrichment business that keeps class sizes small with a maximum of 12 students, and each student has their own devices and kits to use each day. Activities use familiar tools like Minecraft, SCRATCH, and LEGO, as well as unfamiliar tools like MOSS, MakeCode, and Python, and students are challenged in proportion to their individual skill level.
Treehouse Berea offers bottled water and gluten-free, nut-free snacks for students who request them, and there is a comfortable waiting area for caregivers. Treehouse Berea is a Qualified Education Service Provider (QESP) with the Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Educational Savings Account program through the Ohio Department of Education.
