About

Brooklyn Recreation Department Youth Programs include Youth Stick and Puck Ice Sessions, Open Figure Skate sessions, Youth Football, access to a dog park, and pavilion rentals. During Youth Stick and Puck sessions, the rink provides hockey pucks and nets, and participants must complete a Stick & Puck waiver before skating. Open Figure Skate sessions are limited to no more than 20 skaters at a time, and any skater age 5 and under or Basic 6 and under is required to be with a coach at all times, with an Open Figure Skate Policy form completed once a year by anyone attending these sessions.

• Schedule: Indoor pool, cardio room, and weight room are open Monday–Friday from 7:30 am to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The program also offers a dog park that is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk, as well as access to the Grand Pavilion, South Creek, and Old Stone pavilions, which are available for rent. Brooklyn residents, Recreation Center members with monthly or yearly memberships, corporations, and local non-profits can request pavilion rental dates for the season. The Brooklyn Recreation Department Youth Programs are led by Recreation Commissioner Jack M. Abbruzzese and Recreation Manager Maria McGinty.
