About

OSU LiFEsports offers sport-based Positive Youth Development (PYD) programming for children and teens. The program includes Elementary and Middle School Programs, High School Programs, and Virtual Programs for all ages. LiFEsports also prepares and trains a sport-based PYD workforce and conducts research to discover and share best practices in this field.

Since 2009, LiFEsports has grown to address the changing needs of youth and the field of sport-based positive youth development. The mission of OSU LiFEsports is to prepare youth for life and leadership through sport. LiFEsports is nationally recognized as a premier model for sport-based positive youth development. LiFEsports, in partnership with the Ohio High School Athletic Association, is working to change the landscape of coach training in Ohio. Through its Coach Beyond initiative, LiFEsports and the Ohio High School Athletic Association offer a series of eight coach education sessions. LiFEsports states that all of its activities and programs are open to all without any restriction based on race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected class.
