Steve & Kate’s Camp states that, at this program, campers choose which activities they do, whom they do them with, and for how long. The camp describes itself as a summer day camp for kids aged 4–12, with a camp age limit of 13, and notes that if a camper turns 14 while attending summer camp, they may finish out the summer. Steve & Kate’s Camp also notes that it offers mentorship programs for children aged 14 and 15, with availability that may vary by location. Campers must be fully toilet trained, able to speak up for their needs, and able to get through the camp day without a nap.

The program includes long camp hours, with drop-off and pick-up allowed at any time within camp hours, and all-inclusive rates that cover all camp hours, snacks and lunch, and any activities that interest the child. Families can buy any number of days and send their child to camp on any day they choose, with automatic full refunds for unused purchased Day Passes at the end of the camp season, and Summer Pass refunds if not enough days are used to justify the cost. For water play, campers are asked to bring a labeled swimsuit, towel, and water shoes or sandals to participate.

Steve & Kate’s Camp notes decades-old traditions such as Find Chuckie and Friday Pie-Day, including an optional whipped cream pie to the face on Fridays. Weekly specials may include a bounce house combo, a giant inflatable obstacle course, other giant inflatables, musical performances, movement workshops, popup petting zoos, and additional water play. The camp also notes that it may take occasional trips to Tuttle Park, and that additional state-required paperwork must be submitted for every child before their first day of camp, with a virtual camp orientation emailed to registered families. The Columbus camp lists Deja as the Camp Director.

Steve & Kate’s Camp states that it has been operating since 1980. The camp’s mission statement explains that, after a school year of rigid structure, the program gives children freedom in choosing their activities, peers, and time spent, and describes this experience as both joyful for kids and a kind of training ground for life. Testimonials about Steve & Kate’s Camp include comments from Andrew Stanton, director of WALL-E, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory; Apple’s Hot News; Variety magazine; The Washington Post; and the Chicago Tribune.
