Hiram House Camp was established in 1896 and is Ohio’s oldest summer camp, ranked among the top 12 oldest camps in the United States and the top 14 oldest worldwide. Overnight Camp has been the core of the Hiram House mission since 1896, and campers ages 7–14 live in log cabins centrally located to camp facilities during Overnight Camp. The camp has a theme of “American History and the Pioneering Spirit,” with Conestoga Wagons, log cabins, and a Frontier Fort, and every Day Camp session includes a pre-scheduled overnight stay at camp. Hiram House Camp offers Summer Day Camp, Summer Junior Day Camp, and Summer Overnight Camp for boys and girls, and also offers year-round outdoor education, school camps, group retreats, and horseback riding lessons.

Hiram House Camp’s mission is to enrich the lives of children through summer camps and to prepare youth for the challenges of today and tomorrow by building character and self-esteem and promoting team and group development through hands-on educational programs, outdoor experiences, and activities. Hiram House welcomes youth of all backgrounds, including many children from urban areas in Cuyahoga and surrounding counties in Northeast Ohio, and a majority are eligible to receive financial assistance through an annual Campership Fund for families in need. Hiram House Camp is an accredited member of the American Camp Association (ACA) and is described as one of the premier summer camps in Cleveland, Ohio. It is a private, independent, non-denominational, nonprofit, coeducational, interracial, and intercultural facility.
