Chagrin Valley Recreation Center

Chagrin Valley Recreation Center offers swim team, swimming lessons, tennis camps, summer camps, and swimming and tennis lesson programs, along with many unique classes and special events. Kids and families can use three swimming pools, five tennis courts with pickleball lines, a basketball court, a gaga pit, and a game room, and can reserve the outdoor pool and pavilion for parties. The center also offers lap swim times.

• Schedule: Open from early June to around Labor Day, with open swim hours during the day and lap swim options in the early morning and early evening on specific days

Opened in 1937 as the community’s first public pool, Chagrin Valley Recreation Center is known around town as “The Rec” and notes that it has been celebrating summer for 89 years. The organization states that its activities will contribute to the mental and physical health of the community and to its economic and social wellbeing. Chagrin Valley Recreation Center is a nonprofit organization funded 100% by member dues and a small fundraising program, receives no funding from the Village of Chagrin Falls or the school district, and is managed by a volunteer board and a small part-time staff. It is staffed by young adults from all over the Chagrin Valley and is open to everyone in the Chagrin Valley. The leadership team includes CVRC Director Beth Sonnhalter and CVRC Board Chair Amy Rodgers Smith.
