The CCM/CPS Summer Jazz Academy concludes with a performance by all student groups.

• Ages: 0–18 years old

• Price: The CCM/CPS Summer Jazz Academy is offered free of charge to CPS students and for a highly discounted tuition for regional students; Lives United/Vidas Unidas provides cost-free programming and free reservations of the performance space for local musicians or artists; the Ben Carlson-Berne Scholarship Fund provides high-quality music lessons to underserved youth in the Cincinnati community who show an interest in classical music and commitment to taking private lessons, with deeply discounted private lessons from the time the scholarship is awarded until high school graduation.

CCM Prep offers programs in music, dance and theatre arts for people of all ages and abilities, including adults, young children, teens and pre-professional students preparing for a future in the performing arts. Programs are offered at CCM’s Uptown Campus and through select partnerships across Greater Cincinnati. CCM Prep works with the Cincinnati Public Schools’ Arts Curriculum office, the CPS Strong Pathway, and several CPS schools through the CCM/CPS Summer Jazz Academy, the CCM Prep/CPS Strings Partnership at Hays-Porter Elementary and Woodford Academy, and the CCM Prep Dance and Theatre Arts Partnership at Roll Hill School and College Hill Fundamental Academy. Lives United/Vidas Unidas is a community music and arts initiative that provides cost-free programming and regularly collaborates with the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Prep Division, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Nouveau program, Cincinnati Public Schools Jazz Academy, and William Howard Taft Elementary School.

In the initial year of the CCM Prep/CPS Strings Partnership, all third-grade students at Hays-Porter Elementary received group lessons in their music classes, and the partnership later expanded to all Hays-Porter fourth graders and Woodford Academy fifth and sixth graders in the 2023–24 school year. The CCM Prep Dance and Theatre Arts Partnership provides weekly after-school experiences with professional teaching artists in dance and musical theatre at Roll Hill School and College Hill Fundamental Academy. The Ben Carlson-Berne Scholarship Fund, established in 2004, provides high-quality music lessons to underserved youth in the Cincinnati community who show an interest in classical music and commitment to taking private lessons, with deeply discounted private lessons from the time the scholarship is awarded until high school graduation.
