About
DAAPcamps offers day and residential camps that include Middle School Art Studio, High School DAAP Sampler, High School City Design (Urban Planning), High School Drawing Intensive, High School Business of Fashion, High School Makers Camp, and High School Animation. High school residential options include Architecture & Interior Design, Communication Design (Graphic, Digital, Motion), Fashion Design, Fine Art Studio, Industrial Design, Footwear Design, Digital Moviemaking, Ceramics and Printmaking, and Textile Design. Campers use supplies provided by DAAPcamps for both Day Camps and Residential Camps.

Day Camps for high school students run Monday–Friday June 8–12, 2026, from 9:00am–5:00pm daily, and the Middle School Day Camp runs the same week from 9:30am–4:30pm daily. Residential Camps run June 21–27, 2026, with Sunday afternoon check-in and Saturday noon check-out. All supplies are included for Day Camps and Middle School Day Camp, and all supplies, room, board, and field trips are included for High School Residential Camps, while lunches must be brought from home during Day Camps.
High School Residential Camps are taught by DAAP faculty, alumni, guest professionals, and are staffed by current students, and the Footwear Design residential camp is led by Charley Hudak, Creative Director, Sun Day Red by Tiger Woods. DAAPcamps founder Laurie Wilson is a University of Cincinnati faculty member, an associate director of student affairs, and an adjunct assistant professor in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). DAAPcamps have been held in UC’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning since 2011.
DAAP is recognized among the top art and design schools in the world and is ranked among the top programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Business Week, Design Intelligence, and others. DAAP is ranked #4 nationally for co-op and internships by U.S. News & World Report and #5 best visual communication design program by College Factual. DAAPcamps 2025 welcomed nearly 300 creative young minds to campus, and DAAPcamps is looking forward to welcoming over 300 campers for Day and Residential Camp weeks in Summer 2026.
DAAPcamps offers both Day Camps and Residential Camps and includes studio-based experiences in areas such as Digital Moviemaking, Business of Fashion, Drawing Intensive, Urban Planning, Ceramics and Printmaking, Textile Design, and the DAAP Sampler. Middle School Day Camp is for rising 6th–8th grade students who are curious about exploring their creativity through hands-on projects and artistic expression, and middle school campers engage with a variety of mediums and techniques, encouraging exploration, collaboration, and personal growth. High School Residential Camps offer a true pre-college experience that includes living on campus, working on immersive studio projects, exploring Cincinnati’s creative scene, and building friendships, and High School Day Camps offer rising 9th–12th grade students a hands-on introduction to the skills and thinking behind a variety of creative careers.
A limited number of scholarships based on merit and need are available, including the Popkin Family DAAPcamps Scholarship for campers from the Northeast United States (ME, MA, NH, VT, CT, NY, NJ, RI, DE, and PA), and awarded scholarship funds are applied directly to the camper tuition balance once the recipient has been notified and accepted the scholarship offer. A UC Employee Discount of 15% is available if a camper’s parent or grandparent is a UC employee. All supplies are included for Day Camps and Residential Camps, and all supplies, room, board, and field trips are included for High School Residential Camps.
DAAPcamps 2025 was highlighted by local news station FOX 19, and C.A.M.P. Cincinnati Architecture Mentoring Camp is listed as an additional camp opportunity for rising 8th and 9th grade students. Registration for Summer 2026 is now closed and camps are filled for that summer, and new subject-matter for High School Day Camps is considered on an annual basis and will be updated if added.
