TCT Academy

TCT Academy offers classes where children spend time learning how to sing, learning how to dance, and learning how to act. The program is part of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati and focuses on these specific performing arts activities.

TCT Academy operates under the leadership of Roderick Justice, TCT Artistic Director, and Maddie Jones, TCT Associate Artistic Director. Its mission statement says that it isn’t just learning how to sing, dance and act, but also about gaining confidence, learning life skills and keeping children and their imaginations active. The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s Artistic Director has received a Tony Award nod. TCT reports that 97,000 children and families are reached on the MainStage and 40,000 students are reached with TCT on Tour performances. From 2022 to 2023, TCT provided $836,815 in school ticket subsidies, and 3,000 patrons have attended sensory-friendly performances since 2016. TCT received a second $500,000 gift from the Farmer Family Foundation for the Emery Theater, and Carl and Martha Lindner made a legacy gift to The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.
