Columbus Children's Choir was established in 1996 and is described as Central Ohio’s premier choral program for school-age children. Its stated mission notes that it is open to students in grades 1–12 of all experience levels, that its programs build skills, confidence, and community, and that generous financial aid helps keep participation accessible. Families are asked to enter through the east most entrance and to accompany children during drop off and pick up.
The leadership team includes Artistic Director Jeanne Wohlgamuth; Program Manager Tammy Gebara; Vivace Director Molly McCorkle Rule; Adagio Director and Accompanist Eliza van Kan; Accompanist Chad Baker; Young Musicians staff member Robin Terschak; and Managing Director Kerry Haberkern. Jeanne Wohlgamuth has a four-decade career in children’s music education and has served as Artistic Director since 2012, and she has received multiple awards, including the Professor Veneta Vicheva Conductor’s Mastery Award (2021), Best Conductor Award at the Rimini International Choral Competition (2021), the Outstanding Music Educator Award from the Royale Music Competition (2023), and the National Teacher of the Year Award from the Organization of American Kodály Educators (2020).
