Education & Youth Programs take place within the broader offerings of Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, which include botanical biomes, lush gardens, special horticulture and art exhibitions, and seasonal offerings. The programs are part of a setting that also features a collection of glass works by artist Dale Chihuly, which is on display and included with admission. A variety of special events and activities are available throughout the year, along with a full menu of classes, workshops and camps focusing on gardening, cooking, fine art and wellness.

The Palm House and Showhouse have been open to the Columbus community across three centuries, and the Conservatory in its current form opened in 1993. The organization’s mission statement is: “As a premier botanical garden destination, we connect people to nature and create life-enhancing experiences.” Leadership for the Conservatory includes President & CEO Bruce Harkey, along with vice presidents and directors overseeing planning, event sales and facilities, horticulture and exhibitions, marketing and communications, community outreach and education, human resources, visitor experience, philanthropy and finance. Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Columbus Top Workplaces. The Conservatory is located within an 88-acre city park that borders several historic neighborhoods, has brought international artists and exhibitions to the city, and has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors, reflecting a long-standing link to the community.
