Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens states its mission as connecting people to nature and creating life-enhancing experiences. The Palm House and Showhouse have been open to the Columbus community across three centuries, and the Conservatory in its current form opened in 1993. The organization has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Columbus Top Workplaces. Leadership for the Conservatory includes President & CEO Bruce Harkey, along with vice presidents and directors overseeing planning, event sales and facilities, horticulture and exhibitions, marketing and communications, community outreach and education, human resources, visitor experience, philanthropy, and finance. The Conservatory is located within a larger park that has hosted the first Franklin County Fair and Ohio State Fair, and a community garden campus is open to the public at no charge from dawn until dusk. A Know Before You Go resource provides tips on what to bring, what to see and do, and how to view current closures before arriving.
