Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens opened in its current form in 1993 and is recognized as Central Ohio’s premier botanical garden, with a visitor experience that spans about 13 acres and is included in admission. The organization’s mission is: “As a premier botanical garden destination, we connect people to nature and create life-enhancing experiences.” The Conservatory features botanical biomes, lush gardens, special horticulture and art exhibitions, seasonal offerings, and a collection of glass works by artist Dale Chihuly that is included with admission. Exhibitions have included Paul Busse Garden Railway, Orchids, Blooms & Butterflies, Harvest Blooms, Pumpkins Aglow, Holiday Blooms, and Conservatory Aglow. The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company Community Garden Campus is a 4-acre garden that encompasses an apiary, rose pavilion, berry house, 40 community garden plots, a demonstration kitchen, and a Live-Fire Cooking Theater, and it is open to the public at no charge from dawn until dusk. Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Columbus Top Workplaces.
