School of Rock Columbus Music Programs offers performance-based music education that includes private music lessons, group music lessons, and group rehearsals. Students take part in specific programs such as Rock 101, the Performance Program, the Rookies program, the Little Wing program, the Songwriting program, and the Adult Program. Activities include learning chords, rhythm, and song structure, using classic rock songs to learn about rhythm, melody, and dynamics, and using hand percussion and other tools to learn rhythm patterns and music syntax, as well as songwriting exercises, lyrical workshops, and recording original songs.

• Schedule: Class and lesson options are available on weekdays and weekends during afternoon and evening hours, with additional morning hours on Saturdays.

School of Rock was founded as a single school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1998 and has grown into what it describes as the world’s largest multi-location music school, with over 385 locations in 16 countries and more than 65,000 students worldwide. Its mission statement says that School of Rock is a growing and passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education, and it uses a patented School of Rock Method that combines one-on-one instruction with group rehearsals. The organization offers a House Band program for ages 18 and under and an AllStars program for ages 17 and under, and students play shows in real rock venues.

An independent study cited by School of Rock reports that after joining its programs, 96.2% of parents saw a boost in their child’s self-confidence and 95.9% reported improved teamwork skills. School of Rock and its youth enrichment brands have been recognized with honors such as being named Global Franchise Grand Champion at the 2026 Global Franchise Awards and being included in the 2026 Top 100 Global Franchises.
