Miami Valley Digital Learning Center (Back To Basics Youth Education Center) offers programs that include Girls AI Summer Camp, Tech Quest, Smart Cities AI Camp, the Miami Valley Digital Literacy Summer Camp, Techie Camp, the Thurgood Marshall After School Program, and two hour Saturday sessions at the Computer Lab. The Miami Valley Digital Literacy Summer Camp runs from July 20 to July 31, and Techie Camp is scheduled for July 6–10 and July 13–17, 2026.

The program’s mission is to make the world a better place by empowering young minds, lifting them out of poverty, and providing a direct pathway to thriving careers in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Miami Valley Digital Learning Center does business as The Miami Valley Digital Learning Center and recently adopted this name to better align with its activities. The organization started in Dayton in 2015, mentored students after school in 2016 at Dunbar Early College High School, hired a grant writer in 2017, and tentatively scheduled leasing office space for the center in 2018. It is growing and planning to move into a modular Computer Lab in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is identifying local funders to support $1500 per year for 2025, 2026, and 2027.
Mr. Lawrence Lindsey serves as Director and is a retired educator, retired military, a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Central State University and the University of Dayton. The leadership team includes a President/CEO/Director and a Program Officer who recently became employees, and the President/CEO/Director is scheduled to transition on December 31, 2026, to the role of President Emeritus Fundraiser for life. A volunteer accounting student helps with bookkeeping, and a Wright State University computer science student volunteer teaches the two hour Saturday sessions at the Computer Lab. The organization serves youth in and around Dayton, including students of Dayton Public Schools and students in Montgomery County and surrounding counties, and works in partnership with local agencies and individuals. It is affiliated with the Combined Federal Campaign, and its funding code in that campaign is 80038.
