The Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WiSTEM) Institute offers “hands-on” lab sessions where participants build, experiment, and discover more about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The 2026 theme is “Innovations of our Past and our Future.”

• Schedule: June 8–12, 2026
• Price: Total registration cost for the WiSTEM Institute, including daily lunches and program T-shirt, is $10.00.

The WiSTEM Institute was established in 1994 to enable students in grades 10–12 to explore different areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that are represented in the STEM division. WiSTEM is open to students who are entering grades 10, 11, and 12, and registration is now open. The leadership team includes Dr. Sarah Finch, Chair, WiSTEM Institute; Dr. Amanda Duselis, Chair-Elect, WiSTEM Institute; and Dr. Marita Abram, Past Chair, WiSTEM Institute.

Sinclair offers 325+ degree and certificate programs, including specialized and technical areas of study that are in high demand in the Dayton region. With an enrollment of more than 30,000 students, Sinclair is among the largest community colleges in America, and its student-to-faculty ratio of nineteen-to-one is among the lowest at any Ohio college. Sinclair, partnering with WPAFB, offers on-site classes which may be applied toward a CCAF degree.
