YMCA Swim Lessons offers swim lessons, private swim lessons, and water exercise classes. The program takes place in YMCA indoor pools, including a warm water pool. The swim lessons use a progressive, learn to swim curriculum that emphasizes proper swimming technique and water safety.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Sessions are typically six weeks
• Price: Pricing will be prorated if a holiday or closure affects swim lessons
Certified swimming instructors and lifeguards lead YMCA Swim Lessons, and staff training includes CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration. Swim lesson programming varies by location, and YMCA members get priority registration a week before non-members. YMCA pool rules and safety guidelines include swimmer supervision, age and swim test requirements.
