About
Dublin Arts Council Youth Workshops & Programs includes specific artist-led activities such as the Yūzen Workshop. This two-day intensive workshop explores the Tegaki (hand-painted) Yūzen method over two sessions led by an artist.
• Schedule: Yūzen Workshop meets on July 11 and July 18 from 9 a.m. to noon; it is a two-day intensive workshop.
Dublin Arts Council was founded in 1983 as an ad hoc committee and was incorporated in 1984. Its mission is to engage the community, cultivate creativity and foster life-long learning through the arts. The organization manages the Art in Public Places program and the Riverbox program, which weaves together art, nature and discovery along Dublin’s waterways, and it maintains connections with many community organizations through partnerships and public art. General admission and parking for the galleries and grounds are free, and the grounds are open every day until dusk.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Merijn van der Heijden; Director of Design & Marketing Raygan Barrett; Director of Public Practice Ava Truman Morgan, Ph.D.; Program Manager Paige Dempsey; Administrative & Community Relations Coordinator Kayanaat Chaudhry; Director of Finance & Administration Katy Marque; Curator of Exhibitions Nick Stull; and Riverbox Ambassador Mandi Strapp. Board officers are President Eileen Bolton, M.D.; Treasurer Denise Applegate; Secretary Mabel Castellar; Citizen Representative Mike Stull; and Dublin City Council Representative Andy Keeler, along with additional board members Michael Bowman, Bryan Faller, Ingrid Fields, April Griffith Taylor, Adam Hernandez, Mark King, M.D., Jennifer Kuhfeldt, Imran Malik, Jim Medsker, Emily Miller, Kate Schwartz, MJ Tompkins, Tom Trusty, Megan Vanderson, Neil Widerschein, Ying Wu and Kay Yamakawa.
Staff credentials include extensive experience in visual arts leadership, curatorial practice, arts education, design, brand strategy, exhibition design and community engagement, with degrees such as BFAs, MFAs, BAs, MAs and a PhD from institutions including The Ohio State University, Akademie voor Beeldende Vorming in Tilburg, Netherlands, Ohio Wesleyan University, Butler University, Earlham College, Goucher College and Columbus College of Art and Design. Staff and board members also serve on various arts and public art boards and committees across Ohio.
