Elyria Parks & Recreation Youth Camps and Sports Programs offers themed camps such as STEM Camp, Hero Week, Animal Planet Week, Get Set, Get Fit Camp, and Around The World Camp. Programming runs throughout the year with activities for all ages and abilities. During STEM Week, STEM Camp focuses on science, technology, and engineering through hands-on activities, led by an OSU 4-H Extension Representative who provides engaging activities. Hero Week focuses on recognizing everyday heroes, with games and activities that highlight commitment, leadership, and teamwork, and participants have an opportunity to engage with the Elyria police and fire department. Animal Planet Week focuses on learning about domestic and wild animals and includes a visit with Outback Ray and his Animal Friends. Get Set, Get Fit Camp encourages physical activity through play and sports, with activities that include teamwork, endurance, and personal fitness challenges. Around The World Camp explores and samples art, food, and games from around the world and includes creating a passport of campers’ experiences.
