Balanced Family Academy

Balanced Family Academy offers child care and preschool that includes physical activities and weekly classes brought in by partnering local businesses. The program uses multi-purpose rooms and provides healthy meals with a variety of fresh, wholesome options each day. It offers care from infancy through pre-K with low staff to child ratios and an all-in approach that includes diapers, wipes, and extracurriculars, along with wholesome food options for the entire family.

Balanced Family Academy opened in 2014 and has been serving families in Columbus, Ohio since 2014. Its mission statement is “Every Child.Every Family. Every Teacher. Every Day.” The founders and owners are Becca, Sarah, and Katie. The program describes itself as a community of support for parents and offers whole-child, play-based early learning. It partners with local businesses to bring in a variety of classes each week, and its schools are rooted in the communities they serve, bringing play-based early learning to families across Central Ohio.

Parent feedback includes comments that teachers and administrators take care of children every day, that facilities and activities keep children active, engaged, and learning all day, and that teachers are warm and nurturing. Parents also report that administrative staff know how their child’s day went at pick-up, that staff know families’ names before day one, and that staff coordinate fun events for families outside of school hours. Multiple parents describe Balanced Family Academy and its staff as amazing and say it feels like a second family.
