Rainbow Acres Educational Daycare III

Rainbow Acres Educational Daycare offers infant care, toddler care, preschool and Pre-K care, and grade school care. Rainbow Acres Educational Daycare was founded in 1998 by Francine Harder. The stated purpose is helping and caring for children, teaching young children basic preschool academics and proper social behavior, and beginning education at the earliest possible age. The program states that it pledges to provide this education at a high level of quality and dedication and to assist parents in developing high moral and educational values in their child, while not replacing the role of a parent.

The program operates three locations referred to as Rainbow Acres Educational Daycare Oak Harbor Location, Rainbow Acres I, Rainbow Acres II, and Rainbow Acres III, and notes that there is a gradeschool summer program, including a Summer Gradeschool Program starting in June with many field trips, age permitting. Outdoor play is provided each day in suitable weather for toddlers, preschool, Pre-K, and school-age children who attend for four or more consecutive daylight hours. In very hot weather, children are taken outside for a limited time with water and a shaded area supplied, and if it is raining, children remain indoors and an indoor activity is planned. The daycare states it will be open all year except for New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

The program states that no child will be left alone or unsupervised, that parents must present the child to his or her teacher and wait for acknowledgement upon arrival, and that no child will be dismissed to anyone other than the parent, guardian, or an authorized person listed in the child’s file. It notes that each classroom has a posted plan listing actions and staff responsibilities in case of fire emergency or severe weather alert, that a file of monthly fire drills and results is kept in the main office, and that the center holds three first-aid kits on site in the main office, on field trips, and in the kitchen.

Teacher aides are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is required for the Preschool Teacher position. The program states that all staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR.

Rainbow Acres Educational Daycare notes that it is STAR 3 Step Up qualified and that it has been voted as a top daycare in the area. It also states that it partners with Job & Family Services and GICAP for child care assistance.

The program uses the Brightwheel app, which sends photos, videos, newsletters, and parent alerts regarding center updates. Payments can be made through the Brightwheel app, and parents can communicate with their child’s teacher through the app.
