LifeWise Academy is a nonprofit program that provides Bible education to public school students during school hours. The program offers Bible-based character classes and Bible class sessions as part of its Bible education. All LifeWise Academy classes are held off site of school premises.
• Schedule: Teaching the Bible during the public school day is legal in all 50 states under three conditions: the program must be held off site of school premises, no government funds can be used for this program, and parental permission is required for a child’s participation.
LifeWise is led by trained staff. Joel Penton is the Founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy. LifeWise partners with parents to improve outcomes. LifeWise remains a grassroots movement of local churches and community members stepping up to serve local students. LifeWise has been building and refining an innovative ministry approach with a commitment to Gospel Centrality, Excellence, and being Community-Driven. LifeWise is recognized as a top-tier organization by both Guidestar and Charity Navigator for financial stewardship, transparency and accountability, has been awarded a Certified Transparency Seal from Excellence in Giving and a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, and has successfully completed a fiscal audit by Rea & Associates.
