Camp Swoneky is a residential summer camp where campers take part in horseback riding, high ropes challenges, and low ropes challenges. The program also includes immersive learning in the Nature Lodge, time at the Animal Farm, swimming, and archery.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Each camp session runs for 5 nights and 6 days, with programs offered throughout June and July.
Camp Swoneky is owned and operated by The Salvation Army. Its stated mission is that Camp SWONEKY exists to share God’s love through meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire spiritual growth, personal discovery, and care for one another and the world around us. One of its unique features is that camper mail is delivered twice a day, right after breakfast and right after dinner. The camp offers a Teen Camp week with special sessions for older campers. A testimonial from Coralys Aleman, Assistant Christian Education Director, describes camp as “an experience like no other” and mentions returning because of “the encouraging environment, unforgettable memories, and lifelong friendships.”
