About the provider

Camp Wyandot, Inc. was founded in 1913 and purchased Camp Wyandot in the Hocking Hills in 1928. As of April 30, 2013, it became an independent non-profit organization. Camp Wyandot provides an inclusive nurturing environment for youth to have fun, make friends, serve others, and explore the great outdoors. It supports volunteers, hosts an annual luncheon and auction, and offers campership scholarships for many children who would not have had the opportunity to be in nature otherwise.

All Camp Wyandot Staff are trained to meet each camper where they are in terms of their individual needs, interests, and abilities. Counselors are supported by a Camper Support Specialist. Campers help create their cabin’s schedule. For Camp Otonwe, campers bring a sack lunch each day unless notified that lunch will be a cookout. Membership eligibility is open to all individuals eighteen (18) years of age and over.

What families say

“My experiences there, the friendships there, are highlights of my life. I live in Denver, CO. I still miss Columbus and lifelong friends there. Thanks for the newsletters.” — Charlotte Owens Burrows

“Just picked up my son (10) from his first year at Camp Wyandot and he had a BLAST--even with COVID-19 precautions! We will be sending him every year, and sending his sister, too when she is old enough! He was super excited to tell us all about camp, and he really loved his counselors and made friends. He had an awesome experience and already can't wait to return next year!” — Haley Slone

“Camp Wyandot has been a place of refuge, community & friendship for many years. Campership scholarships are provided for many children who would not have had the opportunity to be in nature otherwise. It's a blessing.” — Tamara Wawrosch
