Youth Programs at Lincoln Community Center include an After-School Program, basketball leagues, a Summer Educational Youth Program, and aquatics activities such as infant swim. The program also offers cheer, pickleball, sports training, volleyball, and access to a weight room. Youth can take part in yoga and other fitness classes such as Zumba and boot camp, as well as educational workshops, art classes, music lessons, social events, and community gatherings.

The Lincoln Community Center has been educating, informing, and uplifting the Troy community for over 150 years and was originally established as a hub for African American residents during the era of segregation. It has evolved into a community space that provides programs for all ethnicities and age groups in the Troy community and is described as the most affordable fitness option in Miami County, with memberships starting at $20 per month and a year membership offered for $200. The center hosts community events such as a Back-to-School Bash, Black History Month activities, a Community Easter Egg Hunt, and a Thanksgiving Feast.
The mission of the Lincoln Community Center is “Educating, Informing and Uplifting the Community,” and its Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers are committed to providing a safe haven for youth and adults and maintaining a safe, non-threatening, and friendly environment for all. The leadership team includes Kim Rupert as Executive Director, Marcus Couch as Operations Manager, Julio Herrera as Health, Safety and Fitness Manager, and Jen Nova as Garden/Volunteer Coordinator, along with a Board of Directors that includes professionals from local businesses, education, and community organizations. Executive Director Kim Rupert holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with an English minor from Wright State University and a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Dayton, has taught in private and public schools, served as an adjunct professor, worked for 20 years in non-profit administration, and has served as a children’s advocate through Miami County CASA and other agencies. Health, Safety and Fitness Manager Julio Herrera graduated with a degree in sports sciences in 2003, has a background as a university track and field athlete on a sports scholarship, has coached track and field at universities and schools in his home country, and specializes in injury prevention for young athletes.
Community involvement includes collaboration with area schools, the City of Troy, non-profit organizations, the business community, and other interested citizens and groups, and the center offers a wide range of programs and activities that match the diverse needs and interests of its members. Testimonials from participants and community members describe the Lincoln Community Center as important to the community and note its role in offering programs from pre-school and after-school programs through senior programs, as well as its long-term impact on individuals who have used the center over many years.
