Summer Theater Camp for Youth is a 2 1/2 week program that includes acting, singing, dancing, and theater tech. The camp includes both onstage performance experience and backstage production experience, culminating in a musical production of “Alice in Wonderland” presented through special arrangement with and with all authorized performance materials supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide. For auditions on Saturday 6/6/26, students are instructed to bring a snack and water.

• Ages: 12–18 years old
• Schedule: 2 1/2 week summer session with auditions, daytime camp days, and three performances
• Price: $300 tuition for the two-week camp if registered early by 04-30-26; $350.00 late registration 05/01/26 or after; Partial Tuition Scholarship - $150; Full Tuition Scholarship - $300.

In 2019, Lynn Adell founded the nonprofit Summer Theater Camp for Youth and became a producer. The camp’s mission statement is “Encouraging Youth. Inspiring Success.” Summer Theater Camp for Youth is described as developing the leaders of tomorrow and as a fast-paced, fun-packed two weeks learning skills in acting, singing, dancing, and theater tech. The camp states that students develop essential and valuable life skills such as communication, concentration, and teamwork.

The leadership team includes Lynn Adell Mirtes as Founder, Co-producer and Assistant Director; Wendee Fosnaugh as Co-producer and Stage Director; Musical Director, Kristen Gleeson; and Choreographer, Amy Davidge. Summer Theater Camp by the Numbers notes 100+ years of combined staff experience working with students in the performing arts. Lynn Adell Mirtes has directed high school and junior high plays and musicals while teaching literature and drama, and has taught Saturday morning theater workshops for the Springfield Arts Council and after school enrichment programs in creative dramatics. Kristen Gleeson is the Vocal Music Director at Graham Local Middle and High Schools. Amy Davidge received her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Education from Bowling Green State University, has studied with D. Scot Davidge, Shari Jerome, Deborah Tell, Kathleen Cleary, and in New York City with Finis Jhung, has performed and choreographed several productions for Ohio Performing Arts Institute (OPAI), co-founded the Springfield Ballet Theatre, and has instructed ballet at Clark State Community College and OPAI.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Grants in 2025 funded the purchase of lavalier body microphones for the production “Night at the Wax Museum,” where forty cast members formed a team. Cast members from fourteen schools came together to deliver three performances in 2024.
