Camp Communicate is a week-long, inclusive summer camp where campers take part in 1:1 speech therapy, large and small group activities, play, music, snack time, and engaging speech-focused activities. The program also includes interactive games, creative experiences, parent education sessions, a family cookout and fellowship, and family excursions.

Camp Communicate is a speech camp focusing on severe speech sound disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and is designed specifically for children with CAS and other significant speech sound disorders. Campers have 1:1 time with trained and educated speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in motor planning and DTTC, and work with several SLPs, Intervention Specialists, a Music Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and other specialists. The camp collaborates with a growing team of dedicated professionals and has expanded in both reach and impact into a vibrant, multidisciplinary experience. Campers travel from across the United States to attend, and the camp is described as a one-of-a-kind experience for kids who learn to speak with confidence and have fun doing it.
Camp Communicate is now entering its 6th year of camp. It was co-created by Lynn, owner of Speak Life Speech Therapy, and LaRita, owner of Condon Communication Specialist, who serve as co-collaborators and creators of Camp Communicate. The camp states that every child is supported at their level, celebrated for their efforts, and given opportunities to succeed in a positive environment that blends learning and laughter.
According to its mission statement, Camp Communicate exists to create a special annual event that provides hope for families navigating communication and developmental challenges, practical support through evidence-based, engaging therapy experiences, respite and encouragement for caregivers, and joy-filled memories that strengthen families and build community. The program also focuses on building meaningful community connections, deepening partnerships with local agencies, and creating more opportunities for connection and community. Camp Communicate describes itself as more than an event, but a community built on faith, collaboration, and a deep commitment to serving others with excellence.
