About
Camp Communicate is a week-long, inclusive summer camp where campers take part in 1:1 speech therapy, large and small group activities, play, music, snack time, and engaging speech-focused activities. The program also includes interactive games, creative experiences, parent education sessions, a family cookout and fellowship, and family excursions.

Now entering its 6th year, Camp Communicate is led by co-collaborators and creators Lynn, owner of Speak Life Speech Therapy, and LaRita, owner of Condon Communication Specialist. The camp is a speech camp focusing on severe speech sound disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), and is a week-long, inclusive summer camp designed specifically for children with CAS and other significant speech sound disorders. Programming is led by experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and trained staff, including SLPs educated in motor planning and DTTC, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Intervention Specialists, a Music Therapist, and other specialists. Campers travel from across the United States to attend, and the camp offers a vibrant, multidisciplinary experience with a growing team of dedicated professionals.
The mission of Camp Communicate is to create a special annual event that provides hope for families navigating communication and developmental challenges, practical support through evidence-based, engaging therapy experiences, respite and encouragement for caregivers, and joy-filled memories that strengthen families and build community. The camp is designed to be encouraging, inclusive, and empowering, with every child supported at their level, celebrated for their efforts, and given opportunities to succeed in a positive environment that blends learning and laughter. Camp Communicate is rooted in the founders’ shared faith and love for Jesus and focuses on offering affordable services. The team is committed to building meaningful community connections and continues to grow by deepening partnerships with local agencies and creating more opportunities for connection and community.
