Youth Challenge Adapted Sports, Recreation, and Art Programs

Youth Challenge Adapted Sports, Recreation, and Art Programs offers adapted sports, recreation, and art activities. Kids with and without physical disabilities come together for these free adapted sports, recreation, and art activities. Every activity is adapted to fit each participant’s needs while encouraging them to push their boundaries, and children with physical disabilities are paired 1:1 with teen volunteers.

• Price: $9 cost to families

The program serves Northeast Ohio and provides year-round adapted sports and recreation to over 150 young people with physical disabilities. Youth Challenge Adapted Sports, Recreation, and Art Programs offers over 290–300 programs per year and has been operating for 40 years. The program involves over 140 participants and more than 290–300 teen volunteers ages 12–18 who are trained by staff. It helps provide free transportation, accessible equipment, and adaptive recreation programs for young people with physical disabilities, and 85% of participants receive transportation.
