Oklahoma Conservatory of Music offers private lessons in violin, viola, cello, double bass, and piano. It also offers chamber music, solfege classes, the OCM Preparatory Strings Ensemble, and the OCM Young Musicians Chamber Orchestra.

Founded in 2013 by Dr. Angelika Machnik-Jones, the program lists faculty including Dr. Angelika Machnik-Jones, Erin Kathryn Ripka, Royce McLarry, Dr. Hanwen Yan, Ruirui Ouyang-Johnson, Yoo-Jung Chang, Orlando Ramirez, Blake Hilligoss, Ekaterina Kuleshova, Heather Wickersham, Jeffrey Kirbas, Karla Romani-Sarzi, and Tyler Shepherd. Its mission is to lead people toward a lifelong engagement with music by providing high-quality music teaching and performing activities and to use music to educate, inspire, and bring comfort to the community it serves. Performance opportunities include student recitals, community outreach concerts, local achievement auditions, masterclasses, festivals, camps, and other events.

  • Private lessons in violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano — all ages and levels · once a week; students can begin any time of the year · 30-minute lessons are recommended for young beginning students ages 4 to 9; 45-minute lessons for ages 10 to 12; 60-minute lessons for ages 13 and up. Serious students may take twice weekly lessons.
  • Chamber music program — strings and piano students of all ages · weekly coachings; enroll at the beginning of each semester
  • Solfege classes — ages 4 to 16 · beginning of each semester · Three levels: Solfege I ages 4 to 6; Solfege II ages 7 to 11; Solfege III ages 12 to 16. Students not enrolled in private lessons at OCM may enroll after a placement test.
  • OCM Preparatory Strings Ensemble — ages 5 through 14 · beginning of each semester · For students with at least six months of private lessons prior to joining the orchestra.
  • OCM Young Musicians Chamber Orchestra — ages 5 through 14 · beginning of each semester · For students with at least six months of private lessons prior to joining the orchestra.
  • Adult Program — adults · Adult students receive lessons from highly qualified instructors and have the opportunity to participate in Adult Student Recitals.
  • Adult String Ensemble — adults · For adults who want music-making to be a part of their lives; adult students enrolled in private lessons can participate.
