Courses are taught by working artists and educators, and the program hires professional artists and/or certified art teachers to instruct the classes. The mission of the Art Conspiracy is to further the creation, understanding, and appreciation of the arts in the Western Yamhill Valley, to encourage public participation in the arts, and to promote educational and cultural programs in small, rural communities. Art Conspiracy Summer Arts Program is described as a two-week creative opportunity for students ages 9 through high school from Sheridan, Amity, Willamina, Grand Ronde, neighboring communities, and other areas of Yamhill and Polk counties, with priority registration for returning students and students from Amity, Sheridan, Willamina, and Grand Ronde who register before May 11. The program is funded through tuition, grants, and private donations from local individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses, and financial aid is available for students with need. Busing is provided to and from Amity and Willamina, and students are asked to bring a sack lunch, with the Sheridan School District USDA Free Lunch Program available to Art Conspiracy students Monday through Thursday during the second week. Classes are generally limited to 10 students, with some exceptions, and students are asked to wear loose, comfortable clothing that can get messy, such as shorts, jeans, and T-shirts. The use of electronic devices is not permitted during classes, baskets are provided in each class for devices, and any device used during class will be held until the end of the day. The organization notes that this will be its 25th Summer Arts Program and that it also encourages young artists in the community by holding matting workshops, providing additional awards for young people in the Daffodil Festival, assisting students with entries in the Sheridan Days Art Show, and working with the Willamina Chamber Group to organize student entries for the Coastal Hills Student Art Show.
