About
Junior Golf Programs & Junior Bandonista Experience includes junior golf programs led by experienced PGA Golf Professionals and complimentary rounds of golf on any of Bandon Dunes’ golf courses. Junior golfers, 22 years of age and younger, can play a complimentary round when they are playing with an adult during the Junior Bandonista Experience. All courses, including Bandon Preserve, are available for these complimentary junior rounds, and replay rounds are allowed and may be reserved in advance.
• Ages: 2–19 years old
• Schedule: From Mother's Day Weekend through July 31st, with Junior Bandonista tee times booked after 10:00 am
• Price: From Mother's Day Weekend through July 31st, one junior (22 years or under) receives a complimentary round of golf when playing with a parent or other adult; for an adult with two juniors: Adult – Full Rate, 1st Junior – Complimentary, 2nd Junior – Replay Rate.
Every summer, a team of experienced PGA Golf Professionals leads a number of local junior golf programs for beginners and more advanced players, with programs ranging from an introduction to the fundamentals of golf to more advanced skill progression. Bandon Dunes opened in 1999, and the Junior Bandonista Experience reflects a commitment to growing the game that is tied to the founder’s experience playing “wilderness golf” on the property with his children. The resort’s mission includes reconnecting golfers with the roots of the game, which it states is especially valuable for junior golfers and their families.
All net proceeds from the green fees at Bandon Preserve go directly to the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, which supports conservation, community, and economy on the Southern Oregon Coast, and Shorty’s and Bandon Preserve directly fund the foundation’s grant-making efforts in that region. One testimonial describes the founder, Mike Keiser, originally using the property as a family playground, walking it with his children while they all carried golf clubs and old golf balls to play “wilderness golf,” and another states that, when shared with loved ones in the right wild environment, golf can create a spiritual experience that leaves an indelible mark.
