Basketball Day Camps - Bend, OR is part of NBC Basketball Camps, which has been training athletes since 1971 and is celebrating 55 years of camp excellence. The camp director is Michael Nunes, a national champion and former professional basketball player who won an NAIA national title under Hall of Fame coach Danny Miles at Oregon Tech and played four seasons in Mexico's FIBA national league. For the past 16 years, he has worked with athletes from grade school through high school, focusing on defensive development, shot mechanics, and competitive habits during crunch time.

NBC's training curriculum focuses on shooting form, defensive intensity, offensive skills, teamwork, basketball IQ, and leadership, and NBC stands for “Nothing Beats Commitment,” with the motto “better players, better people.” The camp environment is based on Christian values of dignity, service, kindness, and compassion, and NBC Camps teaches the importance of gratitude, confidence, goals, self-discipline, mental toughness, building stronger families and friendships, and developing a strong personal faith. NBC Camps teaches players how to play with intensity, grit, resilience, focus, intelligence, joy, and gratitude, and focuses on training the total athlete.

NBC Camps reports an approximate 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio, and campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience. Coaches are trained to serve others and be intentionally engaged with each camper, and the program notes positive and encouraging coaches who challenge and inspire. NBC Camps offers international travel teams for athletes ages 14–18 and operates camps in six countries, and is described as one of the largest and most respected sports camps in the world. The camp is popular with families from Redmond, Powell Butte, Prineville, Sisters, and other nearby communities.

Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day, a basketball, and a water bottle for breaks, along with their own athletic equipment and at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball court shoes. Each camper needs to bring a clearly labeled basketball, and NBC Camps is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Allergies, dietary restrictions, and medical concerns should be included on registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for the camper's arrival. Transportation is not provided, campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own, and there is no supervision before or after camp hours.

Parent and camper feedback includes comments such as “Camp was really good and all the coaches were great!” and “Great camp!” from Lucie.
